Frequently Asked Questions

We firmly believe that every project is unique! While we do have a pricing list for stationers, we're happy to use a hands-on approach when creating a quote for you and your project. You can find out more about pricing by going to the "Quote" page or by emailing us directly at [email protected]

To put it simply, the sky is the limit! We source all types of paper and will go to great lengths to find the perfect materials for your project. We can print on everything from soft cotton papers to double thick chipboard to handmade deckled edge papers.

Letterpress ink is transparent, even in "opaque" white, so using foil is the best option for printing white with a letterpress impression. However, metallic silver ink is the one exception to the opacity rule. It has aluminum flakes suspended in the pigment, so it looks fairly opaque on dark papers. Since the papers we use are textured, it doesn't look like a shiny metallic but looks like a neutral gray. It's not the brightest, but it does work.

We also offer white flat printing in house, which achieves the white ink on colored paper look, just without the letterpress impression.

We generally try not to mix processes when two things need to match in the same suite. Ink colors never look exactly the same between letterpress and digital printing. The color, density, and line definition vary and "feel" different between the processes, so we always recommend digital as an option for complementary or coordinating colors- like for a floral design that wouldn't be possible with letterpress.

Yes! Because we work directly with talented designers from all over, we're thrilled to be able to offer wholesale pricing to all of our clients. You can find out more about our wholesale printing for stationers here.

Most projects take approximately 3-5 weeks from the date of payment and PDF proof approval.  Some projects, depending on complexity or quantity, may take longer.  Our production schedule can fill during peak seasons, so it is best to get your project started as early as possible to reserve your press time. Please feel free to let us know what your deadline is and we will try out best to meet it!

We may be able to accommodate a rush order if press time is available, however, our schedule fills quickly in peak demand seasons. A simple one-color print is more likely to fit into a rush schedule. It is not possible to rush things like envelope addressing, custom die cuts, or full suites.

All projects include a PDF proof for no additional charge. It's also possible to produce a press proof if needed. This is generally more practical for very large orders and long runs, but for our average order, it would be impractical as the cost to produce the proof would be similar to the cost of the final product.

This is because plates must be made and the press must be carefully configured for each run. We always recommend printing your PDF proof on your home/office printer at the correct scale before signing off on your project to print. If it looks good in this format, it will generally look good with our processes as well!

Once you're ready to move forward with your project, we send an invoice via QuickBooks that can be viewed and paid online. After payment, we move into the proofing and production phase!

We invoice through QuickBooks online, which accepts payments via debit, credit, PayPal, and bank transfer. Contact us if you have an alternate method of payment and we will try out best to accommodate you.
